Sammy ended up at the shelter after he was found wandering the city streets and subsequently pulled by OMCR . He has made tremendous progress in foster care. 

 

Sammy has a history, but do not let that stop you from checking him out.  Sammy was diagnosed with Bartonella back in 2022, but was treated and retested several times and was negative and cleared for adoption.  Sammy is otherwise healthy. 

 

Sammy loves to play. His favorite toys are the tunnel and chasing an object on a wand. He also is very fond of his scratching post and uses it all the time. He is food motivated, loves going in the car carrier and is very well-behaved during car rides.  He seems to like human attention but can become overly stimulated.  An adopter will really need to be cat savvy and experienced as to be able to read his body language and also prepared for any reactions.  Sammy has a history of biting for no apparent reason and also scratching. 

Sammy MUST be an only cat and no young children in the home. 

 

HIs adopter must be patient with him and an experienced cat owner.  Sammy is very handsome and with patience and understanding, will be a great cat. 

Sammy is a big boy at 15 lbs and is one hunk of a guy.
