Places, please! Places! Miss Liza is taking center stage and we’re spreading the news! The fabulous Miss Liza wants to make a brand-new start of it with an extra-special family in her very own home.
Liza is a 9-year-old Maine Coon mix with a glamourous tabby-patterned coat and a fashionably tipped ear. Liza has a big, dynamic presence -- literally. She is one extra-large kitty. Underneath the glitz and glamour, though, Liza is a sweet quiet gal. She does not meow, but rather sings in soft little chirps, mews and squeaks. It is so adorable coming from such a big kitty. Liza loves having her cheeks rubbed and thinks watching musicals on the couch with her foster mom is the best! She is on the shy side at first, but makes new friends quickly, especially if she is offered a snack. Food seems to be the quickest way to Liza’s heart.
Liza is a happy girl, but right now her high kick is not so high and her little voice slightly off-key. She is looking for an extra special family who can help her through some chronic health issues discovered since she came into rescue.
Liza has a chorus of health concerns that her foster mom and veterinarians are trying to address, first and foremost fine-tuning her insulin to bring her diabetes under control. Liza may love old show tunes, but she is all about keeping up with the latest in technology; she just had a Freestyle Libre device affixed so that her glucose readings can be scanned anytime with no needle sticks. They can even be sent to her foster mom’s phone! Liza can have her people call her foster mom’s people and they can go over her readings to decide if she needs her insulin while Liza does lunch. She loves lunch! Liza may also have some issues with inflammation in her digestive system, which are currently being addressed as well, beginning with a special diet (which, of course, she loves).
Liza has a wonderful temperament and readily allows all handling and treatments her medical condition requires. She has tolerated the cat-friendly dog and other cats in her foster home. With her health issues, a quiet home with only adults and older children would be best for her. Liza’s new family will need to be experienced with caring for a diabetic kitty and dedicated to providing the health care Liza will need going forward. Liza’s ready to get on with the show!
Liza has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. And of course, this proper lady always uses her litter box.
Liza is in Absecon, NJ. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an adoption application for her.
